While Andrew Hurley surely isn't a centerpiece on two-time NCAA Tournament champion UConn’s roster, he has drawn a good amount of consideration thanks largely to his last title. Now, some are wondering who Andrew Hurley’s parents are, and whether he’s hooked up to UConn trainer Dan Hurley.

Andrew might not see much actual playing time, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t contribute to the team in less tangible ways. He’s helpful in practice, for example, and is also uniquely capable of bridging the gap between players and coaches. Dan has even been explicit about suggesting that his son plays in doing “damage control” for the coaches.

"I believe with the ability to connect with the blokes and more or less being that voice, the voice between the trainer and the players, a large number of that has to do with simply the gamers in the locker room accepting me and taking note of what I've to mention every now and then and accepting what I have to do,” Andrew defined. Andrew seems conscious that he isn't as professional as some of his teammates. Andrew and his father are both ok with the truth that he can give a contribution to the team in alternative ways.

“And for the walk-ons, too, non-scholarship, not numerous glory in it, just making ready the staff to play, being a really perfect teammate,” Dan told CT Insider. “It's never about you, ever. And just you might be filling any role you'll be able to in the program. He's been an ideal teammate he is helped our locker room. He's helped our spirit. He's a in point of fact just right player."
