'S.W.A.T.' Season 6: Jay Harrington Teases What's to Come for Deacon Kay (EXCLUSIVE)

In an unique interview with 'Distractify,' 'S.W.A.T.' celebrity Jay Harrington spread out about what's to come for Deacon Kay in Season 6.

Season 6 of S.W.A.T. has introduced each non-public and professional challenges for our characters, specifically Sgt. David "Deacon" Kay. Throughout Season 6 of the fan-favorite procedural drama, Deacon has had to navigate his house life, particularly the trauma his son Matthew faces after their home used to be shot at, in addition to the hazards and responsibilities that come in conjunction with being a part of the S.W.A.T. group.

In an exclusive interview with Distractify, actor Jay Harrington opened up about his character's Season 6 storyline, together with what lovers can expect as the season continues. Check out our Q&A underneath. (Editor's notice: This interview has been edited and condensed for readability.)

'S.W.A.T.' Season 6: Jay Harrington teases what's to come for Deacon Kay

Distractify: After the Kay family family was attacked previous in Season 6, how does that continue to affect Deacon and his family’s storyline all the way through the rest of the season?

Jay Harrington: We got a good opportunity to see how that has performed out after we in finding that my son Matthew has been having some problems in class. I take him to paintings, try to teach him some boxing strikes right here and there as a result of he [is] getting bullied. It turns out, that is not what came about. He [has] actually transform the bullier. And he is being affected, , some trauma that he's coping with. So we've got a in point of fact great second — father-son second — of, you already know, how to start the dialog about dealing with this horrible thing that took place.

What parenting recommendation will Deacon give to Hondo? Will Hondo divulge heart's contents to Deacon on how to navigate paintings with being a guardian?

JH: Yeah, he does a few different ways and times. He's got a host of questions. ... I go back to that first day the place he took what should were my task. But now, we have grown and we have come to that moment, I'm his elder in a way. I'm extra smart as a result of I've achieved this a bunch. And so he wishes some steerage. But it isn't too heavy. It's recommendation about, 'Look, you’ll be positive. I’ve executed this 4 times.'

As lovers, we will’t lend a hand but concern about our favorite characters. Should we be interested in any character shifting ahead in Season 6?

JH: Yeah, I imply … The stakes are high with our display, and we're at all times up in opposition to risk. But what's nice about this season is it's the non-public stuff that, you already know, we’re tapping into. So there's going to be us and considered one of our characters goes to be dealing with some stuff and it is going to carry some fascinating aspects of his backstory and his private life.

What else can you tease about these characters and their storylines in Season 6? Will the season conclude on a big cliffhanger?

JH: No, no longer necessarily a cliffhanger. But what's coming up is some, again, having Hondo with a baby and he's gonna meet his in-laws, or her other folks. And some struggle there. David [Patrick St. Esprit] has some great stuff coming up with Hicks. But with mine, there's an episode arising where we get to learn somewhat bit about my past, about when I used to be a more youthful guy, about why I lean so heavily into religion in the church.

Is there an opportunity of Lina Esco reprising her role as Chris for an episode?

JH: Never say by no means. When she left when she instructed me she was leaving for a long time ago, I stated, ‘Well, you'll be able to come again,’ and he or she mentioned, ‘Eh, we’ll see. Who knows?’

Has there been any conversations surrounding Season 7 of S.W.A.T.?

JH: I think shortly after Christmas, in like February, March, [the writers] get started to come up with concepts for next 12 months and some tales. But for me, I imply, my story is always going to be, let's stay true to the circle of relatives, with Matthew dealing with this, this trauma. I are not looking for this one episode to be the only time we ever deal with it. Let's be sure that [we give] recognize to when other folks undergo issues. So there's a wealth of, a large number of stuff for me to name again and I'm looking ahead to that.
