King Viserys' Death Is Inevitable but How Does It Happen in 'House of the Dragon?'

King Viserys Targaryen rots on the throne as his personal brother Daemon plots to kill him in 'House of the Dragon' — so, how does he die? Plus, does Daemon grow to be king?

From the very starting, it has been transparent that the number one source of conflict in House of the Dragon is who is going to prevail King Viserys Targaryen on the Iron Throne.

Rhaenyra would be the first Targaryen queen, but Viserys' brother Daemon wants the throne — and Alicent Hightower has already married Viserys and given him a son. (It can be in line with custom for Hightower's son to take the throne).

What is King Viserys dying from in 'House of the Dragon'?

King Viserys had a fairly simple time ruling his kingdom. Since his father Jaehaerys I handed the crown to Viserys, Westeros has been peaceful. However, Viserys isn't a a success king by any standards. He's egocentric, passive, and impulsive. He is keen to let his wife die for a son, but his resolution to marry Alicent over the younger Lady Laena Velaryon presentations he's now not keen to sacrifice his personal convenience for his kingdom.

If you were hoping Viserys would meet a fate as terrible as the one he put his spouse via, you may well be dissatisfied. Viserys is a personality who represents passivity. He is indecisive and lazy — the display even manifests a bodily illustration of these traits.
