Instead, production groups hire stunt doubles who have the same body build, athleticism, and intensive coaching to perform battle choreography, soar from high places, turn, and naturally, take many falls. Being a Hollywood stunt double is a tricky task that calls for consistent coaching and an figuring out that bumps and bruises are a part of on a regular basis existence.
Distractify spoke exclusively with Emmy-nominated stunt performer and manufacturer Julia Maggio about what it takes to be a professional stunt-double in Hollywood.

According to Julia, it is standard for the performer to be working on a couple of projects at one time. "So I would have rehearsal for Cobra Kai, learn a huge fight scene, then go work Legacies in between, and then have to come back to Cobra Kai for that scene and actually film it," she explained to Distractify.
"So it can be super hectic but I actually prefer that kind of lifestyle, working on multiple things all at the same time."
When she's now not on a job, Julia is repeatedly coaching to stick in shape and "clean up" skills or be told new ones.
Plus, persistently training keeps a performer secure.
'The most that I can do and that I can regulate is to be a well-trained performer. You by no means wish to get there at the day after which injure your self, and the director asks for another take and you say you'll be able to't. That places all the manufacturing and your boss and your self in a little little bit of a pickle," she said.
She added, "The primary thing for protection is truly in fact on our stunt coordinator and our stunt staff. ... [They are] probably the most perfect folks in the trade that really aspire to be as protected as humanly conceivable."
Yes, Hollywood stunt doubles do get scared.
Though stunt performers may throw themselves off the top of a building or flip a high-speeding car, one thing that Julia cleared up is that prior to stunts, the fear is still very real.
"Absolutely, we do get scared," Julia told us. "I feel it is so humorous so many folks think that. We are very a lot educated protection performers. And there are times that I've been scared however there is not anything more releasing than being scared to do one thing, and realizing that you've got educated your whole lifestyles for this — that you were employed as a result of you're the right person to do it."
Julia informed us that she "lives for the ones moments" after performing and nailing a big stunt sequence. So, how does one get into the field of being a stunt performer?
Per the athlete, every person she knows got into the industry in a different way.
