Where was once Netflix's drama-thriller series 'Ozark' filmed?

Ozark is set round the Lake of the Ozarks, which has been described as "the Midwest's premier lake resort destination." Covering a floor space of 55,000 acres, it's one of the greatest man-made lakes in America, in step with the Missouri Secretary of State.

Over the route of four seasons, viewers watch the major characters undertaking through Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Illinois. But regardless of being named after the shocking Ozark highlands, Decider detailed that the series filmed "around Atlanta, Ga., specifically around Lake Allatoona and Lake Lanier."

As for the scenes set in Chicago, Ill. — particularly in Naperville — they were primarily filmed in the actual city! The Season 1 Chicago scenes have been shot near State and Lake Street.

For the Ozark-set scenes, why Georgia? Why no longer film on location in the Midwest? It all got here all the way down to tax incentives. According to Decider, in 2018, Georgia offered a 20 percent incentive for entertainment endeavors costing part a million dollars or extra.

Not most effective that, but an added 10 p.c "Georgia Entertainment Promotion (GEP) uplift" might be earned "by including an embedded Georgia logo on approved projects and a link to ExploreGeorgia.org/Film on the project's landing page."

Well, obviously saving money sounded peachy willing to the Ozark manufacturers.

All 4 seasons of Ozark are lately streaming on Netflix.
